My  Body Is His Temple

"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are Gods." 1 Corinthians 6:19&20   (NKJV)   "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are." 1 Corinthians 3:16&17

We defile our physical bodies by poor diet and lack of exercise, and we also face a dilemma that we cannot escape. Our air, soil, food, water and household products have all been polluted with chemicals until they are no longer performing as God intended them to nourish our bodies. This has caused the walls of our cells to thicken until the oxygen in the blood can not penetrate the walls and carry the nourishment inside. Our bodies are literally starving to death. Because the cells are compromised eventually they begin to mutate and that becomes cancer. Also, because all our body systems, (digestive, circulatory, respiratory, immune, etc.) are not functioning properly we are getting sick, physically and mentally.

Medical doctors don't seem to have the answers because more and more people are getting sicker and sicker. But there is hope. Read on:

  • Soul  ( 3 items )

"For as he (man) thinks in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7a(NKJV)

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things." Philippians 4:8(NKJV)

The mind is the control center of all our emotions, both positive and negative. Have a healthy mind and our emotions will be healthy. Have a sick mind and our emotions will be sick, plus sick souls will likely cause us to suffer physically and spiritually. Check the links below for ways to help have healthy minds and emotions.

  • Spirit  ( 3 items )

"That they also may be one in us." John 17:21(NKJV)

"Till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:13(NKJV)

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23(NKJV)

We were created for a relationship with God. We were designed to become members of His family and we will never be spiritually well until we do. We become members of His family, not by natural birth, but by a spiritual birth. It is our second birth--being "born again" as we evangelicals say.

When we are born into our earthly families we favor each other, in body, soul and spirit. You've heard the expression, "That boy is becoming more like his daddy every day." The same is true with our spiritual birth. We were created to become more and more like our Savior every day. And that is accomplished through our relationship with God. Check the links below to find out ways to accomplish this.
