Finally! After almost a week of snow had had us cooped up in the house, we were able to get out and go to the grocery store and do our errands. As we drove down the mountain I couldn’t help but feast on the groves and groves of evergreen trees scattered across the hills and hollows. I believe evergreen trees are one of God’s most generous creations because He wanted us to be reminded that, as His children, we have everlasting life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Now, drift snowflakes over the branches and you will be reminded that Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white like snow. (Isaiah 1:18) What an awesome God we serve!

Now it’s time to celebrate the birth of our Savior and provider, but so often it becomes just another holiday. But our youngest granddaughter, 23 month old Bella May, who loves to learn new words, has given it a new twist that is so appropriate. Recently, when her Mommy and Daddy took her shopping, they led her to a giant, beautifully decorated evergreen tree. “It’s a Christmas Tree,” they explained, hoping to teach her some more new words. She studied the tree for a moment with delight-filled eyes, then pointed to it and exclaimed, “Christian Treat!” she announced.

Now isn’t that an awesome way to express our joy at Christmas time? For only we who are  CHRISTIANS (Christ Followers) can claim every promise in His Word and fully celebrate this wonderful holiday with all the TREATS we enjoy.

Psalm 8:2 expresses it perfectly: …out of the mouth of Babes You have perfected praise.

So to all my wonderful readers I can join Bella May and wish you all a very Merry “CHRISTIAN TREAT!”
