ETERNAL MORNING
by
Rebecca Somoskey
Weeping endures just for a night
So the scriptures say.
But how long must the night last
Before the break of day.
There may be days of night, weeks of night
Months or even years,
When life is filled with heartbreak,
An unending flow of tears.
One thing we can be sure of,
And I know that it is true.
Joy comes in the morning,
For the Psalmist tells us too.
Though night may last and last and last,
And weeping cannot cease.
Eternal morning over there
Will bring unending peace.
For our all-loving Father
Will gently take his hand
And wipe away the countless tears
In that Forever Land.
