Inspirations From The Mountains

January 4, 2010

Today I would like to talk about one of the new national pastimes called “Networking”. There are three networking sites that I am familiar with: Facebook, YouTube and My Space. My son, Bill, encouraged me to sign up for Facebook and although I don’t spend a lot of time there, I have been pleased with my experiences. Out of curiosity I visited the My Space website and something clicked in my spirit.

My Space is a really neat place for folks to stay connected by meeting on line. We can not only find old friends, but find all sorts of new friends who share our interests. Besides that, we can go there to express who we are and what we believe, post pictures and videos, and encourage each other.

Guess what! We all occupy a place called “My Space” because that is why we were created. It works like this. God is the one who put me together inside my Mother’s body, and even before I was born He had written everything I would do in His book. (See Psalm 139:13-17) I am the clay, He is the potter, and since I am only the clay, how can I question what He is making of me. (See Isaiah 45:9) Who do I think I am to question Him? As the Potter He has the right to make a fancy bowl or a plain bowl out of the same lump. (See Romans 9:20-21)

I am to occupy my little corner of the world in a way that glorifies God and touches others. There have been times when I have not been happy with “My Space”, so I have grumbled, complained, and wished to occupy a different one. Even though I am just a plain brown pot, think of all the things I can do from my own little space here on Bearwallow Mountain. Through an incredible thing called a computer and its ability to access the internet, I can still meet friends, share fellowship with people of like faith, discover friends of my past, and best of all express who I am in the Lord and what He can do for others.

So, Beloved, if you are unhappy about your space, remember, God has placed you there for His purposes and your benefit.  So look around. How can you reach out and touch the lives of others? He will show you if you will be still and refuse to grumble and complain.

“Have Thine own way, Lord; Have Thine own way. Thou art the Potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still.”
