Grave Robbers PDF E-mail

Every now and then we still hear the slang expression, “He’s a grave robber”, or “She’s a grave robber”, which, being interpreted, means a young man or woman chasing after someone quite older than themselves, often for monetary profit.

The encyclopedia explains grave robbers as extremely dysfunctional people who support themselves by digging up dead bodies and taking any valuables that might be buried with them.

A while back, during a very difficult battle with some of my own regrets and condemnations, it suddenly occurred to me that Satan is a grave robber.  He digs up all those things that have been buried beneath God’s grace and waves them before my eyes to torment me.

Beloved, can you identify?  If we don’t recognize his tactics we will live a life of regret and condemnation even though we are God’s child. Not the way to go, huh?

As always, the place to go for answers is to the Word. Here are some of the verses I’ve found to counteract his attacks. Zap that grave robber in the brisket with one or more of these.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking  whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” 1 Peter 5:8-9

Micah 7:19 says, “You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” Psalm 103:12: As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Be encouraged, dear readers, continue to fight the good fight of faith, and remember that I pray for you daily. –Rebecca Somoskey
