Inspirations From The Mountains

No Money? Try This!

Are you struggling to find the resources for all the gifts you want to buy for Christmas? Most of us are. But there are so many other ways we can give. Our lives these days are spent so helter-skelter, that we often take the easy way and hurry through our list with something trivial, then get back to business as usual. So read this, consider what it will cost you in time, and then sit down and make a list of all the free things you can do for your loved ones.  Believe me, it will be the most satisfying Christmas you’ve ever had. I know, because I have tried it and it works.

Gifts that keep on giving all year long could be a listening ear, a belly laugh shared with someone, a personal written note of appreciation, or a compliment. There’s always something complimentary we can say to every person if we look for it.

But the best gift of all might be a hug from God. I am including a copy of my Christmas Poem “Prayers Are God’s Hugs”, which I repeat again this year. You have my permission to make as many copies of it as you need and give them to your loved ones. You can remove my name and add your own, but don’t do it if you don’t mean it. Then follow through.

PRAYERS ARE GOD’S HUGS
from
Rebecca Somoskey
I can’t give you money for I have none.
I’ll not give you something else to set upon the shelf,
A gift that must be dusted and shined.
For it will soon lose its luster and become a burden,
Then you’ll pack it away among your other stuff
And wish for something to take it’s place.
Instead I give you forever gifts: Helping hands, an understanding heart,
A listening ear, a shoulder to cry on.
Best of all I give you prayer.
For prayers are hugs from God, sent by Him to you through me.
What greater gift could anyone receive than a hug from God?
Prayer never needs dusting, never becomes tarnished
and is continually being replaced.
Prayer will sustain you on life’s journey
and help take you safely to the other side.

Merry Christmas to All my wonderful readers!

Give and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38 (NKJV) --Rebecca Somoskey
