Because the temple had been neglected and abused for so many years the walls were about ready to tumble down. The roof leaked and was in shambles. The inner furnishings were broken and mostly useless. Something had to be done.

No, I'm not talking about a man made structure. I'm speaking about one of God's most incredible creations, my body, the dwelling place of His Spirit. And because my body was in such disrepair, my soul (mind and emotions) and my spirit became sick. Finally God got my attention and showed me that all three work together. He also showed me that He created my body with an inner healing system that, if given the right tools, will heal whatever health problems I might have. He also showed me just what those tools are. My inner healing system is what works to grow a new tooth when a baby tooth is lost, heal a cut, cure a cold, tell my stomach through hunger pangs that I need food for fuel for my body to run on. It tells my heart when to beat and my lungs when to expand and contract. It causes pain somewhere in my body, my emotions or my spirit to let me know that something is amiss and I need to give it some attention. It also does a zillion other things that keep me alive and well. So, I'm having to rebuild.

Now, the temple grows stronger each day because I am replacing poor health habits with the planks of nourishing food, lots of water, exercise, sunshine and deep breathing. I'm replacing all that broken down furniture of unholy and negative thoughts with thoughts that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy.

I'm building relationships and practicing servant hood. I'm putting on a brand new spiritual roof with shingles of daily prayer, Bible study and practicing God's continual presence.

Once again I am bringing honor to my Lord and feeling the strength to be of greater benefit to His Kingdom. If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. (NKJV)

1Corinthians 6:19&20: Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. (NKJV)
