September SkyCoalwood, West Virginia is “October Sky” country, and those of us who have personal connections and memories of Coalwood are very proud of the success of Homer Hickam, the Rocket Boys, and their amazing story. (Emory worked with Homer Hickam Sr. back in the middle 70’s.)

But today I don’t want to talk about “October Sky”. I want to talk about another sky. It’s our September Sky. Awhile back I was taking a morning walk when my eyes were drawn to the heavens, and the sapphire sky almost took my breath away. All the jewels on earth could not be compared to it!  After a most difficult winter and summer, God was speaking through nature to reassure us that all is well because He is in control. My soul was nourished to overflowing, and I broke out in praise.

Now, I thought, wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could keep September always? Then it occurred to me that I have already been doing that, but in a different way. I keep the sky beautiful by reading, claiming, and sharing His written promises every day, regardless of the weather, and every time I write an Inspiration I am sharing my September Sky with my readers.

Then, my mind went to all those dear souls who are unable to see the September sky because they are bowed down with pain, sickness, broken hearts, broken families–great losses. What could I do about them? God answered by giving me some ideas and I want to share them with you.

Bear one another’s burden, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)  Put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering. (Colossians 3: 12)  Freely you have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:8.) I can come along side others so every one of us can have September Always!

Beloved, will you join me as we pray for more opportunities to be the September Sky to lost and hurting souls?
